Tyra Banks Fires Entire “ANTM” Judging Panel
Tyra Banks went on a firing spree and axed all three of “America’s Next Top Model” judging panel.Long-time personalities, Nigel Barker, Jay Manuel and J. Alexander have been given pink slips.
The men were told yesterday that their contracts would not be renewed. Tyra confirms the report via her Facebook page with the following statement:
“To my Nigel Barker, Miss J, and Mr Jay: Thank you for all of our years together on America’s Next Top Model,” Banks wrote. “Working with you is always an absolute pleasure. Excited for what the future holds for us.”
The shocking decision comes as a result of wanting to go in a new direction, the modeling competition, which is rumored to be that of a “college” route. Page Six reports that the show’s producers are looking to add reputable fashion bloggers to the panel to lend the program a more social vibe.
Commenting on the major shake-up, Miss Bands, the show’s host and creator, tweeted, “Fierce & love 2 my @NigelBarker, @MrJayManuel & Miss J. #ANTM turned us in2 a family. Excited for what the future holds for us. XOXO TyTy.”
