NY Times Columnist Charles Blow Gets Racist Voicemail For Trayvon Martin Coverage
NY Times Columnist Charles Blow Receives Racist Trayvon Martin Vmail
The racism that’s been surfacing in this country lately is blowing my mind. NY Times Columnist Charles Blow received a racist voicemail because of his passionate stance on the Trayvon Martin Tragedy. He’s been on the Lawrence O’Donnell’s MSNBC show and has gone toe-to-toe with George Zimmerman’s “friend,” Joe Oliver.
Blow isn’t the only journalist experiencing racism because of his Trayvon Martin coverage. Don Lemon and Goldie Taylor have also been targeted by racist vigilantes. There’s no words after I listened to this voicemail. Just, wow. After the unidentified man called Blow a “coon” and of course a “n*gger,” he mentioned that Blow should be covering the white people that are killed by blacks everyday and that Trayvon was a “pot-smoking, jewelry thieving n*gger boy.”
Blow’s response to the racism was classy and noble.
